Containing a threat.... | Congratulation Priodyuti for his first publications @ CSL

In his recent paper, Priodyuti have proposed a novel network design to localize information and thus containing a threat which may be harmful for the whole community!

Why should we work so hard to make our work reproducible?

Most scientific work isn’t reproducible. Amgen and Bayer, reported in 2011/12 that their scientists were unable to replicate 80-90% of the findings in landmark papers (So sad!).

In one of the NatureJobs article, Andy Tay could explain (for say) why that’s a problem.

Now the thought is whether to allow someone else to reproduce the exact you have performed ??

Answer is:

Some will say there remain stress from competition (to graduate), to obtain tenured positions, to publish papers (with extra page charges), or to secure grants can tempt researchers to publish in large volumes and without through investigation.

Others will curse the charity of open science and remain in the hidden box for the benefit of there 'Personal Growth science'. Errrrrrr!

(I beg) The research works should be drafted sufficiently to allow reproducibility  since one has to satisfy the phrase "I am damn good in walking on others work and then I will think what I can do further?".

So what about Joy !!

I get reminded of an article by Radha Balkrishnan in 'Resonance' and the ending lines of the article sums the happiness behind these faces :

 "The joy that one derives out of original research,however small one's contribution may be cannot be explained in words .It has to experienced."

And since it was Camellia Open Presentation , I am reminded of an advice that Prof. Lange gave to  Radha Balkrishnan:-

"As a women physicist,you will need to produce twice as much as work as a man to get half the recognition.The prejudice and chauvinism of many men (no matter where they are from ) towards women physicists is appalling."

So keeping working hard !

*  Radha Balkrishnan is a theoretical physicist who works on nonlinear dynamics (in particular, solitons and integrable systems)

But for those 2 mins he trained for 20+ years!
That's investment.
